About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Profession: RN Specialty: Med/Surg Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 or 48 hours per week Experience: Preferred acute care facility experience License: Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice required Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor required - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor required Description: Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinate care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment. Collect relevant data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation. Analyze assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Develop a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. Implement the plan, coordinate care delivery, and employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluate progress toward attaining outcomes. Identify outcomes for the patient or the patient’s situation. Collaborate with the patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment. Provide learning opportunities for patients and family members. Directly provide health information to patients, families, and treatment team. Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Delegate appropriately and coordinate the duties of healthcare team members. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Organizational Requirements: Commit to the safety and wellbeing of associates and patients. Receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable. This unit provides general acute care for a mix of both medical and surgical patients. This department's patient population should be no greater than 65% medical or 65% surgical.
