About the Position

Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse Profession: LVN Specialty: LVN Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 or 48 hours per week Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensure in the state of practice Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor Must-Have: Experience in EPIC and Cerner Description: Performs procedures requiring specialized training for general nursing care and related services for assigned patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Medical Doctor. Participates in the planning for and provision of patient care. Utilizes knowledge of asepsis in the performance of treatments, such as sterile dressings, irritations, and cauterizations. Provides functional direction to ancillary personnel. Essential Functions: Provides care for assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse according to established standards and the nursing process. Performs admission assessments and ongoing re-assessments based on departmental specific policies and procedures. Assists in the development of a prioritized interdisciplinary plan of care for each patient. Implements and coordinates the plan of care utilizing appropriate organizational skills and reporting mechanisms. Implements individual teaching plans, including patient teaching protocols and discharge plans. Performs assigned clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, injections, and drug screens. Administers medications. Orders/restocks supplies as assigned according to established par levels. Maintains cleanliness in assigned areas and performs daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning throughout the department according to the established schedule. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
