About the Position

Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years of recent acute care experience License: Active RN license Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Must-Have: Surgical stepdown experience at a Level 1 trauma center. Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips. Experience with auto med dispensing and having completed more than one previous travel assignment. Description: This position requires working nights with a 12-hour shift. The unit cares for post-operative patients requiring intermediate care. Patients are transferred from PACU or SICU and include cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant patients. The unit has 38 beds with an average patient ratio of 1:3 to 1:4, or 1:4-5 if MedSurg patients are included. Tele test and CC Med test will be conducted on day one. E/O Weekend and E/O Holiday shifts are required. Candidates should have strong critical thinking and assessment skills. Experience in tertiary facilities is preferred.
