About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-surg Adult Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current licensure as an RN in the State of Maine or Authorization to Practice pending licensure by endorsement Certifications: Current BCLS & ACLS Must-Have: Excellent assessment, communication, computer, and documentation skills. Ability to function independently. Description: The Registered Nurse directs and coordinates members of the patient care team. The focus is on providing individualized quality patient care consistent with state standards. The RN will develop the patient care plan in partnership with the physicians and other patient care team members. Collaboration with the patient and, if applicable, the patient's family is essential. Demonstrates professional nursing practice skills utilizing the nursing process. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of all assigned patients. Care is appropriate to the ages of the patients, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. The RN promotes teamwork with medical staff and personnel throughout the facility. Adherence to hospital policies regarding confidentiality and advance directives is required. Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act is essential.
