About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Two (2) years of acute care RN experience required License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Acute care nursing - Patient assessment - Care plan development - Care plan implementation - Clinical intervention monitoring Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care. The RN is responsible for customer satisfaction and quality outcomes. Responsibilities include assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development emphasizing evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care. The RN also mentors and precepts staff. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patient/family and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization and the patient/family. Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient/family needs. This education applies to care, treatment, and services provided during their stay and at discharge. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor and preceptor. Demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards. Participates in the Practice Governance model.
