About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Endoscopy Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Acute Care Duration: 26-week contract Shift: 4x9s/week, scheduled through Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: Between 6:30 AM and 4:30 PM Experience: One year experience serving in an Endoscopy environment as a Registered Nurse License: Client Registered Nurse Licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: One year experience as a Registered Nurse in an Endoscopy setting Description: The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical skills, and communication abilities in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Nurse assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and provides direct care. They evaluate patient progress and coordinate care delivery throughout each patient's episode. The Endoscopy Registered Nurse develops specialized skills in caring for patients admitted for medical conditions. They provide care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations. The Registered Nurse is accountable for educating patients and families to foster understanding of self-care beyond hospitalization. This includes guidance on lifestyle changes that support health and healing. The Endoscopy Registered Nurse is expected to promote comfort and provide emotional support in a healing environment. Nursing knowledge and skill are applied in the delivery of patient care. The Registered Nurse conducts patient and family assessments through active listening and analyzing data obtained through direct observation and health team communication. They create a culturally relevant, individualized plan of care to address identified health problems. In collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members, they set goals and monitor patient progress. The Registered Nurse adjusts care plans based on patient response or changes in condition. They promote, advocate for, and protect the health, safety, and rights of patients. The Registered Nurse encourages mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes. They teach others as appropriate and delegate tasks consistent with individual education, training, and scope of practice. The Registered Nurse understands their responsibility to safeguard public safety through compliance with infection prevention strategies. They motivate patients and families by teaching what is necessary to continue care and healing at home. The Registered Nurse assesses learning styles and structures education sessions to maximize understanding. They provide tools and information to assist families after discharge and document the education provided and the response to the education. The Registered Nurse systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. They engage in self-evaluation to identify strengths and areas for professional development. This role reflects the importance of making meaningful connections with patients and families. The Registered Nurse seeks to develop a trusting and caring relationship by being present during interactions, listening, and anticipating needs. They acknowledge that the patient and family are central to all care and services. Creating a healing environment is a key element of professional nursing practice. The Registered Nurse demonstrates skill in application of interventions, including medication administration. Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated in this role. Required tasks may involve contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues.
