About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Emergency Department License: Required Certifications: BLS ACLS PALS TNCC ENPC Must-Have: 1-2 years of Emergency Department experience Comfortable with Pediatric patients Description: Unit focuses on providing emergency care. Trauma Level IV facility. STEMI and Stroke Receiving - transfers out for intervention when needed. Ability to manage Emergency Department flow is required. Patient care spans all ages, with approximately 20% being pediatric patients. Common diagnoses include respiratory issues, abdominal pain, strokes, STEMIs, and various injuries. Patient interactions involve a diverse population influenced by the surrounding agricultural community. On average, the department treats 110-120 patients per day. Nurse-to-patient ratios typically are between 1:3 to 1:4. Nursing staff will perform EKGs while RNs are assisted by Respiratory Therapy for critical interventions. Behavioral health patients are accommodated in designated rooms equipped for safety. Security is available 24/7 within the facility. Rapid turnover and minimal downtime characterize patient room availability. Self-scheduling is permitted but requires balance by management. Compliance with weekend requirements every other weekend is expected. The environment promotes teamwork and social interaction among staff. Living areas nearby offer a range of recreational activities and access to facilities.
