About the Position

Job Title: Medical-Surgical Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-Surg Adult Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 hr nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active Nursing License Certifications: BLS, ACLS (as applicable) Must-Have: Med-Surg experience Description: This position is for a Med-Surg Unit with a blended approach. We care for patients in a Swing Bed Program and occasionally those at a PCU level of care. We balance assignments based on nursing workload and patient care levels. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 for Med-Surg and 1:5-6 for Swing Bed. For PCU patients, the ratio is 1:3-4, depending on whether the patient is on a drip. Nurses without PCU experience are supported through effective assignments by supervisors. The shift runs from 7 PM to 7 AM, with every other holiday and weekend required. There is no on-call duty.
