Registered Nurse — Medical Surgical / Telemetry (MS/Tele)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Every other weekend required | Every other holiday required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code team activations as needed
• Administer oxygen therapy via nasal cannula and oxygen tanks; manage non-invasive airway support
• Perform IV therapy and phlebotomy including peripheral line placement, care, and management
• Maintain and apply isolation precautions in accordance with facility protocols; float within skillset as required

Required Qualifications

• Active New York Single State RN license (NY is not a Compact state; license must be in hand at time of submission)
• Current BLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification (must be included at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records (hard requirement)
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers are accepted)
• Experience working in an acute care or teaching hospital environment
• Familiarity with advanced cardiac and telemetry monitoring protocols
