Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the ICU.

• Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition.

• Administer medications and treatments following physician orders and hospital protocols.

• Operate and monitor critical care equipment and life-support devices.

• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

• Document patient care accurately using EPIC.

• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery.

Requirements

• Active Alaska RN License

• Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience

• Current BLS Certification

• Current ACLS Certification

• 6-Bed Intensive Care Unit

• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Typically 2:1 (occasionally 3:1)

• Charting System: EPIC

• Medication Systems: Meditech & Pyxis Supply Stations

• Standard 3-day department orientation

• Medication competency testing required within the first two weeks
