About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar setting License: Active VA/Compact License required upon start Certifications: NIH Stroke Scale, ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Prior travel experience required Description: The position involves caring for cardiac Intermediate Care Unit patients. Charge responsibility may be required, and appropriate pay differentials and training will be provided. Work history gaps over 90 days must be explained. A skills checklist and a copy of the nursing license are required. All requested time off must be included in the application packet. The role expects you to contribute to a supportive culture while interacting with students and new hires. Floating may be required depending on needs. Experience with Cerner is preferred. Familiarity with vital signs machines, glucometers, SCDs, bladder scanners, vein finders, remote telemetry capabilities, wound vacs, IV pumps, pulse oximeters, chest tubes, tube feeding pumps, and oxygen delivery devices is necessary. Census may cause the client to cancel assignments up to 36 hours in advance. Patient population includes those with cardiac CIMU acuity levels.
