Job Title: Nursing Float Pool RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Float Pool Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: State Nursing License Certifications: BLS, PALS, NRP Description: ACH Enterprise Nursing Float Pool is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse. The facility has 444 beds and includes a Level IV Perinatal Center and a Level III NICU. The average daily patient census ranges from 15 to 18. Common patient diagnoses include respiratory issues, congenital heart disease, hematology/oncology, post-operative care, and trauma. The NICU accommodates 61 beds for premature, neuro, GI, and feeder/grower patients. The PICU has 24 beds designated for intubated, post-surgical, and respiratory failure patients. General pediatrics encompass ages neonate to 18 years, addressing general, hematology, oncology, and post-surgery care. The ER treats patients from neonates to 18 years and has 22 beds. The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit consists of 16 beds for patients from neonate to adult requiring specialized cardiac care. Patient ratios are as follows: - NICU 1:2 - PICU 1:2 - General Pediatrics 1:3-4 - ER 1:3-4 - Cardiac ICU 1:2 Required skills include: - Trach management, ventilators, chest tubes, foley catheters, surgical drains, arterial lines, central venous lines, blood draws, IV starts, and high-flow oxygen management. - Experience with medications including Fentanyl, Propofol, Precedex, Epi, and Levo is necessary. Support within the department includes CNAs, a receptionist, charge nurses, in-house phlebotomy, an IV/VAT team, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, intensivists, and telemetry monitoring as needed. Technology utilized includes EMR software, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and unit-specific equipment. Preferred candidates should be willing to float between assigned areas. Scheduling includes every other weekend rotation, with a holiday work expectation of 75%. The unit culture emphasizes teamwork and friendliness. Scrub color is navy blue.
