About the Position
Job Title: Staff RN - Ambulatory Clinics Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Gastrointestinal Lab Duration: 10 week contract Shift: 1st Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience preferred License: Current state Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) Must-Have: BLS-CPR Certification, Registered Nurse Description: The Staff RN in Ambulatory Clinics works collaboratively as an active member of the interprofessional team. They provide therapeutic, patient- and family-centered care. The Staff RN systematically and continuously collects and assesses data related to patient health status. They develop, execute, and evaluate the plan of care. The Staff RN utilizes evidence to drive clinical decisions and practice related to individual and population health. They establish goals and strategies for meeting care coordination needs. This includes working with the patient, family, and/or other care providers. The Staff RN considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, and fiscal accountability in planning and delivering care. They delegate and supervise care in accordance with state nursing practice regulations. The Staff RN participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives. They also assume responsibility for their professional development. Major accountabilities of this role include: Patient care coordination. Direct patient care. Patient education. Telephone triage and eVisits. Performing and assisting with in-clinic minor procedures. The Staff RN may float to other areas as needed for operations. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. The schedule includes working three days a week with one off day. Weekend and weeknight on-call rotations are required every 8-10 weeks. Staff RN must be able to function as both an RN and an Endo Tech. They must have the ability to multi-task and have strong attention to detail. Teamwork is essential in this role. The majority of procedures involve monitored anesthesia care (MAC) with anesthesia present. Procedures performed include colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCPs, EUS, and other related minor procedures. Experience with specific charting software may be required. Skills related to patient population management specific to the area of employment are important.
