About the Position

Job Title: RN - Neonatal ICU Profession: RN Specialty: Neonatal ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of strong Level 3 and/or Level 4 NICU experience License: RN Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Comfortable in a high acuity, fast-paced environment Experience with EPIC Management of critical care vasoactive drip titration Management of invasive lines ART lines/CVP Description: The RN will work in the Neonatal ICU. This facility has 247 licensed beds and serves as a teaching hospital. It is recognized as a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and a Certified Stroke Center. The unit contains 53 beds with additional overflow. The average patient census is 58. Patient ratios vary based on acuity, ranging from 1:1 to 1:3. Common patient diagnoses include respiratory distress syndrome, congenital heart defects, seizures, and necrotizing enterocolitis. The RN will be responsible for managing ventilator and tracheostomy care, feeding tubes, and intravenous management. There will be support within the department from various roles, including unit secretaries and intensivists. The RN may float to neonatal and pediatric units as needed. Travelers will be expected to work weekends and holidays as scheduled. The RN should adhere strictly to practice guidelines, including the "Bare Below Elbow" policy in nurseries. Unit culture emphasizes teamwork, accountability, respect, and flexibility. The dress code requires solid navy or white attire with no tight scrubs or branded clothing.
