The RN uses the nursing process to assess patients and identify nursing diagnoses. The RN develops and implements individualized plans of care and evaluates patient responses. The RN promotes safe passage for patients throughout their healthcare encounters. The RN delegates tasks to healthcare personnel based on the patient's condition and competencies of the staff. This position is for RNs in hospital inpatient and outpatient departments with 24/7 staffing. Essential Functions: The RN conducts accurate clinical assessments according to practice standards. The RN identifies and prioritizes patient and family needs. The RN modifies care plans to meet clinical outcomes. The RN evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. The RN participates in quality improvement initiatives. The RN creates a compassionate and supportive environment for patients and families. The RN develops therapeutic relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries. The RN recognizes, appreciates, and incorporates unique patient differences into care plans. The RN advocates for patient rights and goals. The RN facilitates learning for patients, families, and staff. The RN works collaboratively with healthcare teams to implement integrated care plans. The RN uses problem-solving strategies to address patient needs. The RN participates in decision-making processes to improve nursing practice. Key Success Factors: Knowledge of nursing standards and procedures is essential. Understanding laws, rules, and regulations governing nursing care is necessary. Knowledge of medical terminology and health promotion principles is required. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are needed. Interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse range of individuals are important. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential. The ability to observe changes in patient conditions and communicate effectively is required. The ability to provide quality, patient-centered care is necessary. General computer skills, including proficiency in electronic medical documentation, are required.
