About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification, GRH CPI/MOAB Must-Have: EPIC EMR Experience in a similar unit within the last 12 months Description: The traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance. A basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week of the assignment. Successful completion of this test is required to work in the telemetry and medical/surgical unit. The role involves delivering care to patients by utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The traveler will coordinate care with other health team members. Interaction with patients and their significant others will occur while maintaining high standards of professional nursing. High-quality care will be provided to various patient populations, including geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, and telemetry. There is a requirement to float to other units, including potentially to the emergency department if necessary. Inclusion in every other weekend rotation is necessary. Telemetry ratios are currently 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights. Medical/surgical ratios are 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights. If the traveler has critical care experience, floating to critical care units may occasionally occur. The estimated work week is 36 hours, with the possibility of being called in during periods of low census. If called in, the traveler is expected to arrive on-site within one hour.
