About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: 2+ years in Emergency Department/Trauma License: Current RN License in the state Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS from AHA; NIHSS, TNCC preferred Must-Have Skills/Experience: 2 years of experience in Emergency Department, inpatient only. Must have trauma experience. Description: This position is for an RN in the Emergency Department. The role requires working night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. The emergency department has a total of 61 beds. Patient ratios are typically 1:4. The RN will perform direct patient care activities for all age groups. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The RN will evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordination of patient care with ancillary departments is essential. Maintaining patient rights and confidentiality is a priority. The RN will function within the scope of nursing preparation and in accordance with nursing practice guidelines. Physical demands include standing and walking for most of the shift. The position requires significant bending, stooping, and lifting with assistance. High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids is expected. Additional physical requirements include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs. The RN will provide care for patients post-trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities. This role maintains professional accountability for patient care provision. Overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers will be evaluated continuously.
