About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years in Emergency Department/Trauma License: Current RN License in the state Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS from AHA; NIHSS, TNCC preferred Must-Have Skills/Experience: 2 years of Emergency Department experience Inpatient only; must have trauma experience Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with established mission, values, and service standards. Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice. Meets unit-specific physical demands. Requires significant bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance. May work differing schedules, shifts, and days of the week according to patient care requirements. High risk exposure to blood and body fluids. Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs. May involve kneeling, crouching, and crawling minimally. Responsible for providing patient care for post-trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities. Engages in continuous professional development to enhance nursing practice. Maintains a commitment to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement. Contributes to a collaborative, interdisciplinary healthcare environment.
