Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Days | 5 Days x 8 Hours | Start Time: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM | 13-Week Assignment | Projected Start: September 7, 2026

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain and record initial patient assessments, establish care priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs, and reassess systematically to identify trends requiring intervention.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, measurable plans of care consistent with Nursing Standards of Care, modifying plans based on patient outcomes and clinical evaluations.
  • Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of clinical facts; perform Point of Care testing procedures as required.
  • Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning; implement and document timely, appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Coordinate team assignments, delegate unit work appropriately, and follow up on delegated patient care tasks to ensure quality and completeness.
  • Promote a positive, professional work environment; collaborate with physicians, staff, and visitors to achieve unit and organizational goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
  • Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Operating Room / Surgical nursing.
  • Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age and type of patient population served; knowledgeable and sensitive to patients' rights in the delivery of care.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior travel nursing experience in an Operating Room or Surgical setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt readily to changes in work environment, schedule, and patient care priorities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely appropriate to the developmental age of the patient.
