Registered Nurse – ICU (Open Heart Intensive Care Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill and postoperative cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, and general surgery patients aged 18 and older in a 10-bed intensive care unit
• Perform and manage invasive hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and arrhythmia monitoring and intervention
• Provide care for patients recovering from open heart surgery, including pacemaker/ICD management and IABP management
• Utilize and monitor advanced therapies including CRRT, ventricular assist devices (VAD), and ECMO
• Deliver advanced cardiac life support as needed
• Float to other ICU floors and medical-surgical floors as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with no license hits (hard stop)
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA or ARC only)
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records
• Must successfully pass an EKG competency exam; passing on the first attempt is required
• Ability to work every other weekend (EOW) and holidays as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Strong proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Experience caring for patients requiring ECMO, VAD, or CRRT
• Familiarity with open heart surgery postoperative care protocols
