About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical / Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current RN license; Evidence of continuing education appropriate for skill level and area of practice Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required; Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse preferred Must-Have: Previous Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred; CRASE training required if assignment extends beyond a 6-month period. Description: The Registered Nurse provides direct and individualized nursing care to adult patients before and after surgical procedures. This role involves assessing patient conditions, administering medications, and monitoring vital signs. The nurse collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment. Responsible for initiating the computerized Plan of Care on admission. Performs general nursing duties in all departments under appropriate supervision. Demonstrates the ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency. Accepts responsibility for the direction, control, and planning of activities. Makes evaluations and decisions based on measurable or verifiable criteria. Works independently while recognizing the rights and responsibilities of patient confidentiality. Conveys empathy and compassion to those experiencing pain, grief, or trauma. Relates to others in a manner that fosters teamwork and cooperation. Communicates effectively and therapeutically with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Incorporates guest relations in daily activities. Maintains the ability to provide care for patients' age-specific, cultural, physical, and psychosocial well-being. Supports the hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures. Participates in required education for applicable programs. Performs other related duties as assigned.
