About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN UP Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of relevant nursing experience License: State RN License in good standing Certifications: - BLS (American Heart Association) - ACLS (American Heart Association) - PALS (American Heart Association) Must-Have: EPIC experience required; Trauma level 2 or higher preferred Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to these patients through the utilization of the nursing process and nursing trends. The RN maintains accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team. The RN completes an initial assessment upon patient admission and develops an appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards, based on patient and family needs. The RN implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. The RN modifies the plan of care based on continuous evaluation. The RN is responsible for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents. The RN communicates with others directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues. The RN offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers and confers with colleagues to expand their knowledge base. The RN identifies their own learning needs and takes the initiative to begin appropriate solutions. The RN fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies. The RN implements procedures and theories specific to Emergency Department nursing. The RN performs patient assessment and develops a care plan in collaboration with providers, family, and the patient. The RN executes the plan of care and nursing interventions. The RN modifies the care plan based on continuous assessment. The RN is responsible for patient and staff safety through appropriate nursing interventions. The RN adheres to safety standards and corrects or reports safety hazards. The RN effectively communicates and collaborates with staff, visitors, and families to promote a healthy and healing work environment. The RN maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
