About the Position
Job Title: PACU RN - Inpatient Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required, level 1 trauma and telemetry experience required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: - Level 1 trauma and telemetry experience is required - Experience with pre/post cath lab procedures is mandatory - Experience with pre/post interventional radiology procedures is required Description: The PACU RN will provide care to patients in the post-anesthesia care unit. The nurse to patient ratio in the PACU is 1:2. The position requires the nurse to float to the holding area within the PACU department as needed, where the nurse to patient ratio can be 1:3-5. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring ventilated patients and managing dysrhythmias. Candidates must have experience in caring for pediatric patients and those undergoing phase II recovery. The ability to perform pre/post procedures for both cath lab and interventional radiology is essential. Clinicians with experience in high patient ratios and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment are preferred. On-call requirements involve 1-2 overnight shifts monthly. One weekend shift per month is required. COVID-19 vaccination is optional; however, reporting of vaccination status is required by the facility. Flu vaccination is required with medical or religious exemptions only. Travelers must have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience, with previous travel experience preferred. Self-scheduling is available. Candidates must be comfortable with a diverse patient population, including neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily caseloads exceed 35 cases, and the unit consists of 36 beds. Additional interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, and social services, among others. This position requires a commitment to patient care and teamwork in a dynamic setting.
