About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (06:45 - 19:15) Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac telemetry experience is required. Experience in telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias is essential. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit may lead to cancellation. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required. The unit will accept first-time travelers with step-down experience preferred. Local candidates will be accepted, with a rate difference. Required skills include IV start and telemetry proficiency. Management of dysrhythmias is necessary. A cardiac telemetry background is mandatory, as this is a cardiac telemetry unit. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:6, with an average daily census of 23. The unit requires quality nurses who can handle high acuity patients and a high patient-to-nurse ratio. Floating within or near the facility is required. Weekend shifts are required, with a total of 8 weekend shifts during the contract. Patient diagnoses include cardiac arrhythmias, MI, ACS, uncontrolled diabetes, DKA, heart failure, and post-operative care for heart catheterization and devices. Quality teamwork is essential as there are no charge nurses on the unit. Candidates must have the ability to manage cardiac drips without titrating for blood pressure. The unit utilizes electronic health record systems and requires familiarity with such systems. Special procedures performed on the unit will include the management of cardiac drips. Candidates need to be prepared for teamwork and support in a fast-paced environment.
