Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: 2 Years of Prior Telemetry Experience Required License: Required Certifications: BLS Required Must-Have: - 2 Years of Experience in a Large, Urban Client - EPIC Charting Experience - Ability to Float to Other Units as Needed - 100% Nicotine-Free Description: This role utilizes a team-based care delivery model featuring bedside RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. Travelers may be floated frequently to meet staffing needs across various units. The unit is a 40-bed, non-specialty medical-surgical unit. Patient demographics include individuals aged 18 and older with various medical and telemetry conditions. Common patient issues include acute and chronic illnesses, such as sepsis, respiratory conditions, gastrointestinal issues, and cardiac diseases. Staff will manage titratable drips, chest tubes, tracheostomies, complex wound care, and high oxygen delivery systems. End-of-life care is also part of the responsibilities. Team-based care promotes teamwork, communication, and effective use of each team member's skills. Virtual nurses assist with administrative tasks that require nursing licenses but do not require physical presence. Nurse-patient ratios are 1:8 during day shifts and 1:9 during night shifts. Nurses must be proficient in managing cardiac drips and administering medications. The role requires the management of various medical equipment and protocols. A commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration within interdisciplinary teams is essential. Working weekends and major holidays is required. All candidates must be nicotine-free. RTO requests are limited and must be submitted with the application. Travelers are expected to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Locals and first-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
