About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a large, urban hospital License: Active RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS Must-Have: - EPIC charting experience - Ability to manage drips on all floors - Strong experience in mixed acuity units Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse in the Stepdown Neuro specialty. Travelers should be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs. The unit cares for medical-surgical patients, specializing in neurology and neurosurgery. Patient conditions include strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, and brain tumors. Nurse-to-patient ratios for Med-Surg/Telemetry are typically 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night. In rare cases at night, this may increase to 1:7. Stepdown ratios range from 1:3 to 1:4, both days and nights. Applicants must have two years of experience in a large, urban hospital setting. Familiarity with managing various drips is required. Floating within scope to meet facility needs is expected. RNs may be required to float to various units. Work will include weekends, with four shifts out of eight possible in a four-week period. Holiday work is mandatory, requiring availability for two out of three major holidays. All applicants must be 100% nicotine free. Local candidates will not be considered. Pending licenses may be accepted, but documentation must be provided prior to submission. Scrubs are mandatory in designated colors with facility branding. All candidates are expected to demonstrate proficiency in critical nursing skills and adhere to strict compliance regulations.
