Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed Medical Acute Care Unit serving a general medical patient population
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5/6 on night shift, with support from Patient Care Technicians available 24 hours per day
• Monitor patients on telemetry as needed; bedside RNs are not required to read strips, as monitor techs are available at a central station
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and interdisciplinary team members across all shifts
• Adhere to unit floating requirements, with travel RNs floating first as needed based on staffing
• Fulfill weekend and holiday requirements, including every other weekend and 3 of 6 designated holidays per year

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• General medical/surgical nursing experience
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Must be able to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a general medical or medical-surgical inpatient unit setting
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring in an acute care environment
• Experience working with Patient Care Technicians in a team-based care model
