Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts (9:00–19:30) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a diverse range of surgical specialties including orthopedics/total joint, trauma, neurosurgery, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic procedures
• Perform phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement as required competencies for all RNs in this setting
• Assist with and circulate for a broad variety of surgical cases including laparoscopic, robotic (Da Vinci Xi), open, and endoscopic procedures
• Participate in on-call responsibilities as required by the unit
• Adhere to universal protocol, infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling, and all applicable surgical safety standards
• Float to other areas of the surgical suite as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records (hard requirement)
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV insertion
• Experience in orthopedics/total joint, trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic surgical services

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with robotic-assisted surgery, including the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• Familiarity with a wide range of subspecialty procedures such as bariatric, plastics, ENT, and podiatric surgery
• Experience with vascular procedures including endovascular aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, and femoral popliteal bypass
