Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 4x10s (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM) | Weekend and On-Call Requirements Apply

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain and record initial patient assessments, establishing care priorities based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs; reassess systematically to identify trends requiring intervention.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, measurable plans of care consistent with Nursing Standards of Care.
  • Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of clinical findings and patient outcomes, modifying the plan of care as needed.
  • Implement and document timely nursing interventions; perform Point of Care testing procedures as required.
  • Coordinate team assignments and delegate unit work appropriately, following up on delegated tasks to ensure quality and completeness.
  • Participate in patient and family health education, discharge planning, and orientation of new staff and students on the unit.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
  • Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license valid in New Mexico.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Operating Room / Surgical nursing.
  • Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age and type of patient population served.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior travel nursing experience in a surgical or perioperative setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt readily to changes in work environment, schedule, and patient care demands.
  • Strong communication and human relations skills that promote teamwork and a positive work environment.
