Registered Nurse – Surgical Acute (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | Three 12-hour shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult surgical patients in a 34-bed surgical acute unit
• Deliver skilled pre- and post-operative nursing care for procedures including abdominal surgeries (lap chole, appendectomy), mastectomies, thyroidectomies, and management of chest tubes and surgical drains
• Operate and monitor equipment including vital signs machines, IV and PCA pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Document patient care accurately using electronic medical records (WOWS/EMR)
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6
• Float to other units or departments as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active State of Hawaii RN license required by assignment start date
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse with proficiency in surgical acute care
• Strong background in pre- and post-operative nursing care
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Current ACLS certification (required)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with a broad range of surgical specialties including abdominal, oncologic, and thoracic procedures
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication management systems and WOWS/EMR charting platforms
