About the Position

The traveler is expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees. 1+ years of experience is acceptable. Unit specifics include 42 beds with a patient ratio goal of 1:6, which may go up to 1:7. The unit calls for 8 nurses, with unit secretaries and techs available. 4 techs are present every shift. Type of equipment utilized includes typical med/surg equipment such as EKG, bladder scanner, and vein finder. Documentation is handled through a Meditech system. Staff may float as needed. Patient experience requirements include med/surg skills. Advanced skills required for the unit include wound care, foley catheter insertion, and tracheostomy care. The unit has received recognition for patient safety and has improved fall rates significantly. The team values disposition and safe discharge of patients.
