About the Position

Job Title: Telemetry Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00-07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH stroke scale certification required Must-Have: One previous successful travel nursing assignment. 30 months RN or LPN nursing experience. Ability to care for 6 telemetry patients/post-cardiac procedures, including PCI, PPM, ICD, or Ablations. Proficient in reading telemetry strips. Strong time management skills, including plans of care every shift, collaboration with physicians and ancillary departments. Experience in discharge planning and patient education. Advanced skills in phlebotomy. Nurses administer breathing treatments outside of ICU (respiratory treatments: inhalers and nebulizers). Foley catheter care and maintenance (with nurse-driven protocols for removal). Management of cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amio, Nitro, Dobutamine). Description: Traveler shall be scheduled in accordance with facility policy. Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with staff members. Unit includes 29 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6. Nursing staff will use mobile phones for communication and mobile computer workstations on wheels. Unit utilizes a documentation system for electronic health records. Scheduling requirements are for three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend. Travelers are the first to float to other units as needed. Floating may include working in telemetry monitoring or patient care units. Bedside shift report is the method of patient handoff. AIDET and RN/MD rounding are practices emphasized in patient experience. General Comments: The facility is well-known for its emergency services and trauma care.
