It has received an A in the Leapfrog Client Safety Grade for patient safety and healthcare quality. The hospital earned Magnet Designation in November 2020 for nursing excellence. It serves as a referral center for trauma, stroke care, and neonatal intensive care. The facility is equipped with the only open-heart and interventional cardiology services in the region. Candidates must possess mother-baby experience and a strong commitment to patient care. Team players who enjoy teaching are encouraged to apply. The Mother-Baby Unit consists of 34 private couplet rooms. It has a staff of 78, including a charge nurse, registered nurses, and a patient care technician/secretary for both day and night shifts. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:3-4 couplets. Essential equipment includes Alaris pumps and bilirubin blankets/lights. The electronic medical record system utilized is Cerner. Candidates with experience caring for patients on Magnesium Sulfate post-delivery are preferred. Typical procedures performed on the unit include circumcisions. Weekends are required, but there are no on-call shifts.
