Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Profession: RN Specialty: ER Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36-48 hours per week Experience: Preferred acute care facility experience License: Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor - NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Description: This position involves delivering coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. The RN supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. They coordinate care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment. The role involves collecting relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation. It also involves analyzing the assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Developing a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes is a key responsibility. The RN implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluating progress toward attaining outcomes is essential. Identifying outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation is a critical task. Collaboration with the team, including the patient, family, and healthcare providers, is necessary for providing patient care in a safe and caring environment. Providing learning opportunities for patients and family members as well as team members is expected. The RN directly provides health information to patients, families, and the treatment team. Participation in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care is required. Appropriate delegation and coordination of duties among healthcare team members is necessary. Other job-related duties may be assigned as required. Organizational Requirements: Compliance with all required vaccinations as a condition of employment is mandatory.
