About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience required in high-risk and high-acuity environments. License: Current compact nursing license required. Certifications: Required - BLS, NRP. Preferred - ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate. Must-Have: Candidates must have current supervisory references. Candidates must pass clinical review. Candidates must be able to circulate and provide newborn care, including eye ointment and vitamin K injections. Candidates must have experience with electronic fetal monitoring. Description: Registered Nurses in this position will work in a high-risk, high-volume labor and delivery environment. This role involves functioning as a baby nurse during delivery and continuing care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum. Experience in assisting with high-risk deliveries and knowledge of neonatal resuscitation is essential. Candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a daily census of approximately 15 patients. Flexibility to float between postpartum and antepartum units as well as neighboring facilities is required. The expected work schedule will include availability during weekends and holidays. Candidates must possess skills in newborn assessments, management of postpartum hemorrhage, and familiarity with various medications such as magnesium sulfate and insulin. Overall experience in labor and delivery is valued with a preference for those having advanced skills in newborn care and high-risk scenarios.
