About the Position
Job Title: RN, MedSurg/Progressive Profession: Nursing Specialty: Agency Staff RN Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Registered Nurse (RN) - State License Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required, NIH Stroke Certification - Required Must-Have: - Associate's Degree in Nursing Required - Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills - Strong organizational and time management skills - Ability to make quality, independent decisions - Analytic and problem-solving skills Description: Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably. Demonstrates competency through the nursing process which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the American Nurses Association. Strives to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Provides evidence-based nursing care consistent with the interprofessional plan of care. Communicates and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to ensure continuity and coordination of care. Acts as an advocate for patients and families. Performs point of care testing as required. Demonstrates a high standard of moral, ethical, and culturally sensitive behavior. Assesses the overall needs of the patient and analyzes assessment data to identify potential diagnoses or issues. Identifies expected outcomes and develops an individualized interprofessional plan of care. Evaluates patient and family educational needs and employs appropriate teaching strategies. Initiates patient discharge planning at the time of patient contact. Ensures that required documentation is performed accurately and timely. Assumes an autonomous leadership role and delegates appropriately to support staff. Engages in activities related to the professional role and seeks to continually advance knowledge and competence. Participates in ongoing improvement activities that contribute to quality patient care. Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures. Performs other duties as assigned.
