About the Position

Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant Profession: CNA Specialty: Long Term Care Duration: 26-week contract through the holidays Shift: Full-time evenings Hours per Shift: 12 hours (2pm to 2am) Experience: Minimum 1 year in a long-term care setting License: NYS Nursing Assistant Certification Certifications: BLS (must be through AHA or RQI) Must-Have: High School Diploma or GED Description: Full-time CNA position with 3x12 evening shifts and every other weekend/holiday required. Candidates must have NYS Nursing Assistant Certification and a minimum of 1 year experience as a licensed CNA working in a long-term care setting. Job functions include assisting residents with daily living needs such as hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and skin care as per the care plan. Maintaining resident safety and environment by responding to call lights, using safety equipment, preventing falls, and cleaning the unit is essential. Support residents during meals by delivering trays, helping with feeding, using adaptive equipment, and honoring food preferences. Assist with mobility and rehabilitation needs including range of motion, walking, transfers, proper positioning, and use of aids. Take and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. Measure and record weight, intake, and output. Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge of residents. Help meet resident social and emotional needs through interaction and companionship. Maintain confidentiality and residents' rights at all times. Report resident concerns, changes, or refusals to the nurse promptly. Complete all required documentation in a timely manner per protocol. Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks may lead to contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues. Skills required include NYS Nursing Assistant Certification and BLS (AHA or RQI) with at least 1 year of experience in a long-term care or CNA capacity.
