About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years in a hospital setting License: Virginia license or compact Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: 2 years of PCU experience Description: Must have 2 years of experience in a hospital setting. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. The unit has 20 beds with patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5. There are nursing and PCT staff available on the unit. Equipment used includes baxter pump, SCD, telemetry, 12 lead EKG, OGT with TF, and high flow oxygen. The documentation system in use is Meditech Expanse. Scheduling requires 36 hours with 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks. Floating will follow the same patient ratio as the unit floated to. Advanced skills required include occasional trach/vent, chest tube management, and managing trauma patients using pulmonary toilet procedures. Candidates should be aware of unit-specific policies and guidelines. Additional information about the department or team awards may be available upon request.
