Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS BLS NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous telemetry experience - Ability to manage cardiac drips - Experience with patient ratios of 1:5-6 Description: This position is available in a 54-bed cardiac unit. The unit serves as the main telemetry unit. Patients are primarily monitored on cardiac monitors. The patient population includes those with heart failure, heart attacks, strokes needing cardiac monitoring, cardiac arrhythmias, and chest pain. There may be overflow medical patients when needed. The typical patient ratio is 1:5-6, but may increase to 1:7 during call-ins. Management is actively onboarding travelers to reduce workload during increases in patient volume. Call requirements are not necessary for this role. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. Travelers must be willing to work 2 out of 3 holidays. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, but efforts will be made to accommodate requests. Charting is performed using the Cerner PowerChart system. The unit offers support from interdisciplinary services including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Travelers are required to complete specific online training modules prior to assignment. This is considered a sensitive account, and professionalism is paramount. Unprofessional behavior or shift call-offs may result in contract termination.
