About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: AM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 18 months in specialty within the past 3 years License: GA or compact license required Certifications: ACLS required Must-Have: Experience with post-CABG cardiac surgery patients preferred. Familiarity with chest tubes is necessary. Rhythm identification test requirement upon starting. Description: This unit operates similarly to an ICU and is classified as an advanced progressive care unit due to patient ratios. The team manages post-operative cardiac surgery patients requiring specialized care. Patients include those with chest tubes, and while vents are not used, LVAD experience is beneficial. The patient-nurse ratio is typically 1:4 or 1:5. Candidates will have two attempts to complete a rhythm identification test, which is proctored and not multiple-choice. Previous experience in a similar setting is essential for consideration.
