About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS Must-Have: Epic experience required, competency test required Description: The nurses in the Progressive Critical Care Unit care for medically delicate and surgically complex patients. Common conditions include respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications. Nurses must be competent in the care of medical and surgical populations. Knowledge of advanced hemodynamics including pressor usage per titration protocols is essential. Experience with antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics, and relevant procedures is required. Nurses should be familiar with HFNC, BiPap/Cpap, and infection prevention protocols. Average patient load is 3 high-acuity patients. Candidates with experience in large-scale adult progressive care units and community hospital intensive care units tend to thrive in this environment. Competency testing is required within 24 hours of submission.
