About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 16 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience in the specialty License: Current RN License Certifications: - American Heart Association BLS - ACLS - PALS or ENPC - TNCC - Conscious sedation certification Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience in emergency nursing Description: This position is for a returning traveler. Candidates must have a minimum of two years recent RN experience in emergency nursing to be considered. The Emergency Department consists of various sections including a main emergency department, fast track, and observation unit. All emergency department nurses are expected to rotate through each of these areas regularly. Nurses may also be assigned to Triage, Quick Registration, Covid Tent, and Entry Screening. Assignments may vary daily based on patient volume and unit needs. Nurses may assist with Covid testing and immunization clinics as needed. The typical schedule is seven on and seven off, with a mix of 36 and 48 hours per week. Travelers may occasionally float to other departments in which they are qualified to work. Assignments could involve taking a patient load if experienced and competent in that setting, or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights and phones. All shifts may change during the contract period, and flexibility is required to cover various shifts as staffing needs evolve. Holiday coverage is required.
