Job Title: RN - Cath Lab Profession: Nursing Specialty: Agency Staff RN Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: Variable start times (6:30, 7, or 7:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Registered Nurse (RN) - State License Required Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association or American Red Cross - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association - NIH Stroke Certification - National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Must-Have: - Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Strong interpersonal skills - Effective time management and organizational skills - Ability to make independent decisions - Analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to work efficiently under pressure - Strong confidentiality adherence - Competency in computer systems Description: Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as defined by professional standards. Demonstrates critical thinking through the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds professional performance standards including ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, and quality of practice. Strives to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Provides evidence-based nursing care consistent with the interprofessional plan of care and regulatory standards. Communicates and collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure continuity and coordination of care. Acts as a patient and family advocate. Performs point of care testing as required. Demonstrates a high standard of moral, ethical, and culturally sensitive behavior. Formulates decisions based on ethical principles guided by the professional code of ethics. Advocates for the privacy and confidentiality of patient information. Assesses the overall needs of the patient and analyzes assessment data to identify potential diagnoses or issues. Identifies expected outcomes and develops an individualized plan of care. Evaluates patient and family educational needs, employing appropriate teaching strategies. Initiates patient discharge planning at the time of patient contact. Ensures accurate and timely documentation of required information. Assumes a leadership role and delegates appropriately to ensure safe, quality patient care. Engages in activities related to professional development and seeks to advance nursing knowledge and competence. Participates in ongoing improvement activities contributing to quality patient care. Actively participates in safety initiatives and completes all required competencies. Performs other duties as assigned.
