About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Mother/Baby Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, NRP (Advanced), STABLE Must-Have: BLS, NRP (Advanced), STABLE, Epic experience Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit, promoting professional development, and emphasizing evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Using the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences to deliver quality care and mentor or precept staff. Responsibilities include: Assessment: Performing assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrating the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development and Implementation: Initiating, prioritizing, implementing, and reviewing/revising the plan of care as indicated. Collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizing resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. Evaluation: Monitoring and documenting responses to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitating, coordinating, providing, and evaluating education specific to patient and family needs. Leadership: Delegating tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functioning as a mentor or preceptor. Demonstrating, encouraging, and facilitating teamwork. Identifying and appropriately communicating opportunities for improvement. Participating in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implementing practice changes. Complying with regulatory standards and participating in the Practice Governance model. Required Skills and Experience: Two years of acute care RN experience. Preferred Skills and Experience: None.
