Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 4 shifts per week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a critical care unit (24-bed ICU) and progressive care unit (26-bed PCU), with the expectation of floating between both units as needed
- Manage patient ratios of 2:1 (up to 3:1 based on acuity) in the ICU and 4:1 in the PCU
- Titrate and manage vasoactive and sedation drips including Levophed, amiodarone, heparin, Precedex, propofol, Cardene, nitroglycerin, Neo-Synephrine, and dopamine
- Care for complex patient populations including post-CABG and post-PCI cardiac patients, sepsis, DKA, and respiratory failure
- Interpret telemetry at the bedside; collaborate with monitor technicians and charge staff at the central monitoring bank
- Work alongside Intensivists (daytime), Hospitalists (all hours), and Respiratory Therapy (24/7) to deliver coordinated critical care
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Demonstrated critical care nursing experience
- Proficiency with titrating vasoactive, sedation, and cardiac drips
- Ability to float between ICU and PCU settings, with occasional floating to other departments as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for post-cardiac surgery or interventional cardiology patients
- Familiarity with ventilator management, BiPAP, and high-flow respiratory support (Airvo)
- Prior experience working in a float or multi-unit capacity within a critical care environment
