About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Chemo Certified Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (08:00 - 17:00) Experience: 1-3 years preferred, at least 1-2 years required License: BSN Required Certifications: BLS, AHA, ONC Certification Required Must-Have: Chemo Certification (ONS/ONCC) Description: RN ONC-CHEMO Certified is required. Shift is from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. 1-3 years of experience preferred, with a minimum of 1-2 years required. First-time travelers are accepted, provided experience requirements are met. No weekend requirements. No on-call requirement. The traveler will not need to float between units, although this is subject to change based on facility needs. Charting will be done using the Epic system. Patient ratios are 1 nurse to 6 patients. Dark blue scrubs will be provided. Special requirements include BSN and familiarity with all oncological and hematological diagnoses. Skills required include accessing and managing ports, administering chemotherapy and blood products, and managing side effects of treatment. Experience with intravenous therapy and care for various cancer diagnoses is essential. The unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with a daily census of approximately 80. Interdisciplinary support includes pharmacy. Candidates should be prepared for a variety of oncological and hematological diagnoses.
