About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: RN License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN EFM Must-Have: AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Experience with Couplet Care Description: Unit information includes 11 labor beds, 4 OB evaluation beds, 2 OB PACU beds, and 2 operating rooms. The unit is staffed by 79 personnel. Day shift includes 1 Charge Nurse, 10 Staff Nurses, and 2 OB Technicians. Night shift includes 1 Charge Nurse, 10 Staff Nurses, and 2 OB Technicians. Patient ratios are 1 RN to 2 patients and 1 RN to 1 patient. Key equipment utilized includes GE fetal monitoring. The electronic medical records system used is CPN and Meditech. Typical hiring profile includes candidates with over 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery. Experience as a Transition Nurse or in Baby Catching is preferred. Common procedures performed include NST, cervical exams, managing labor, titrating medications, and McRoberts maneuver. Candidates should thrive in an organized chaos environment and enjoy working with many patients. Weekends and on-call shifts are required as needed. The dress code consists of hospital infant security scrubs. Unit policies and guidelines can be found on the intranet. Recommended candidates will be considered first if they possess preferred skills.
