About the Position

Sheboygan - Med/Surg 1

AM Ratio 4- 5 Patients.

Will accept 48hr contract

• About Facility

o 3400 Union Ave Sheboygan, WI 53081

o 101 Licensed beds

o Level IV Trauma Center

o Primary Stroke Center

o Covid vaccine required

• General Information

o Beds: 24

o Experience? 1 year

o First-time traveler? Upon review

• Patient Types:

o Oncology: does have some pediatric patients on the floor {>1 yr. old}- does not need peds exp/traveler will not care for these patients

o Surgical: Bowel surgeries, GU surgeries, CBI

o Cellulitis, GI bleeds, CHF, Overflow: Covid /TB patients, outpatient infusions(abx/fluids)

o Does not need to be chemo certified

• Patient Ratios:

o Day: 1:4-5

o PM/Eves: 1:4-6

o Overnight: 1:6

• Required Certifications:

o BLS

• Skills required

o Chest tubes, stable trach management (preferred), IV skills, port/central lines, knowledgeable on CPAP/BiPAP/Airvo

• Support on the Unit:

o CNA (Ratio - Days: 1:4-5, Evening/PM: 1:6, Overnight: 1:8)

o Charge nurse: takes a partial assignment

o Phlebotomy: yes; RNs will draw from central lines

o IV/VAT Team? Mondays and Thursday s

o RT 24/7

o Hospitalist 24/7

o RRT/Code Blue team

o OT, PT, ST during the weekdays and limited on the weekends

o Centralized tele with tele tech

• Charting System/Equipment:

o Epic- preferred

o Alaris

o Pyxis

• Floating:

o Other MSU, ER holds, first to float

• Orientation:

o 1-2 days, based on comfort

• Scheduling:

o Weekend rotation: weekends only, as of 9/8

o Can we approve time off? NM to approve

o Call: not required but if interested let management know

o Holiday Expectations: every other
