Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse

• Obtain and record initial assessments, establishing priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and needs.
• Re-assess patients systematically to identify progress and necessary interventions.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans according to Nursing Standards of Care.
• Make nursing decisions based on patient outcomes and modify care plans as needed.
• Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
• Implement and document timely interventions suitable to patient needs.
• Evaluate and refine care plans regularly.
• Perform Point of Care testing procedures.

Requirements of the Registered Nurse

• Current New Mexico RN license or valid compact state license
• BLS certification from AHA required
• Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Current knowledge and skills aligned with patient population needs
