very rewarding job

Working a Halifax Regional was a very fun and rewarding job. Where I really felt like I gave back to my small home town community. I love the atmosphere and relish in the opportunity to work with such wonderful and skillful nurses on a daily basis. I find Person Memorial a place that gives back to their community and strives to make every patient's experience the best possible by providing the best patient specific care possible

Nice place to work. Good team work

I work as an RN on a Med Surge floor. We have a variety of patients, including chemo administration and pediatrics, along with our pre and post op patients and wound care. A typical day consists of patient assessments, giving meds, communication with doctors as well as other services in the hospital, reviewing labs and orders, and basic patient care. We administer blood, care for NG tubes and PEG tubes, administer chemotherapy, start and maintain Bucks traction, foley catheter care, etc. We have excellent teamwork on the floor I work on and everyone helps each other. The hardest part is staffing. At times our floor is low census and we get put oncall or we have a very high census and not enough staffing. I love where I work. I have gained so much experience working on a Med Surge floor and really enjoy going to work.

Good structured environment

Great Hospital to work for, busy environment with a generally good management staff. Good co-workers. Just hard for me to do the job with my current health status. Love the Patients and support persons.
